Bugfood Sterilized Eggs E-Vial 10GR (Whitefly, Thrips, Caterpillars)
Bugfood E-Vial contains eggs of Ephestia kuehniella, a moth considered a pest in cereals, but once released in other crops, it serves as a nutritional supplement for predators established as a biological control of harmful species in crops.
Biological control is increasingly the option chosen by growers around the world, making it a booming sector where research and development are the cornerstone. Bugfood provides supplementary food to most predatory insects when the pest is still incipient or absent.
It works especially well for feeding the whitefly predator insect Macrolophus, as this insect is slow to establish, so it must be released early in the crop cycle, well before peak pest pressure.
Bugfood E contains Ephestia eggs. In addition to the weight of Ephestia, both products will also include a small amount of dehydrated Artemia cysts. These are added to the product to maintain the desired humidity during transport, but are also suitable food for predatory insects.
